A Russian icon of the Mother of God of Kazan, 19th century, unknown maker, Cyrillic S.G. to oklad, possibly St Petersburg, Christ raising his hand in benediction and the Mother of God leaning towards him, on wood panel with silver oklad with cloisonne enamel halos and repousse decorated floral border and enamel plaque to lower centre, the reverse with velvet lining, 31.5cm x 27cm Provenance:Christie’s, South Kensington, December 1992, lot 196, label to reverse.
