A Russian icon of the Three Hierarchs of Orthodoxy, 1908-1926, marked with 84 standard, Moscow, maker Cyrillic S.G., the three Church Fathers, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, standing full-length wearing elaborately decorated vestments and each blessing and carrying a bible, with gilt halos, the Mandylion above, on parcel gilt wood panel, with a silver oklad chased with scrolling foliate decoration, 31.5 x 27cm Provenance:Christie’s, South Kensington, 9 December 1992, lot 330, bearing label to reverse.
