His works are purely abstract in nature, as he feels that abstraction best reflects thoughts and the inner world. He attempts to manifest the essence of the things he has seen in his works, and he employs various geometric shapes and doodle forms to express this.He is currently the Chairman of the Art Bangla Foundation,and is a retired professor; he formerly taught in the Department of Graphic Design at the University of Dhaka. He has held over 41 solo exhibitions and recently participated in the 59th Venice Biennale (2022). His works form part of the collections of the British Museum, Shilpokala Academy, Fukoka Art Museum and the Lalit Kala Academy.
