After the rise of the Taliban in the early 1990s, he migrated to Pakistan, where he lived and worked for 8 years before migrating to the USA in 2000 where he now lives. Pardais' works combine impressionism, realism, classicism, modernism and Islamic miniature work. He employs oils, watercolours and gouaches and paints various subjects some of which include Afghanistan's landscapes, its culture including the famous Buddha's in Bamiyan, the migration of refugees and the modern bazaars. Examples of these bazaars can be seen in the lots on offer in this auction. His works have been exhibited in the USA, Czechia, Bulgaria, Moscow, Tajikistan, Sumerqand, Pakistan, New Zealand, and at the Kabul National Gallery.
