Description Bronze, unmarked, raised on a wood base.20 1/2 x 9 x 10 5/8 in. including the base.Note: The original Marly Horse sculptures were rendered in marble by Guillaume Coustou between 1743-1745 and were created in life size. They were commissioned by Louis XV for his Chateau de Marly, to be placed at the trough at the entrance of the grounds. The sculptures were then moved to the Place de la Concorde in 1794 and remained there until 1984 when they were moved to the courtyard in the Richelieu wing of the Louvre Museum.Property of a European Collector品相报告: Condition Report In good overall condition with additional drill holes in the wood base. Both legs repaired with slight pitting. Uneven Patination.
