A ding (tripod censer) with wooden stand and cover, Ming dynasty or possibly earlier, China, A very fine bronze censer on three raised legs, the outside with an archaic-style relief of taotie masks. Standing on a custom made antique intricately wood carved 'cloud' base with matching wood carved lid. The lid set with an amber finial., H 28.5 cm (including stand and finial), The bronze in good condition with no damage or restoration. The wood lid with damage and repair (see photos). The finial is probably a later replacement.
