A George I walnut side table, circa 1720the quarter-veneered and feather-banded top with re-entrant corners, above a concealed frieze drawer, on cabriole legs terminating in pad feet70cm high, 75.5cm wide, 49.5cm deep; 2ft. 3½in., 2ft. 5¾in., 1ft. 7½in.品相: A charming piece of early walnut furniture, with a warm colour and rich patination to the top in particular. Some movement to veneers and cross-banding of top, and evidence of small patch repairs and other repairs to veneers throughout. Variation to colour and some evidence of fading, as to be expected. There are also separations to moulded edges, again entirely consistent with age. Pad feet fitted with later metal pads to underside, and generally the whole with typical old water marks, scuffs, stains and scratches commensurate with age and use.
