A small album with twelve antique pith paper paintings of figures in costumes, Ca. 1820, China, Twelve fine watercolour paintings of various figures (men and women) in colourful costumes. Each with a simple dark blue paper frame and mounted on an album page. This album has been in the same family since the 19th century when the set was acquired in the then Dutch East-Indies (present day Indonesia), in the front of the album there is a handwritten dedication that says: A.M.
