本品撇口，圈足，器形规整，造型优美，釉色莹润艳丽，若初凝牛血，足内施以白釉，青花书“大清道光年製”六字三行篆书款。霁红釉，亦称“宝石红釉”、创烧于明代永乐、宣德年间的景德镇御器厂。它以铜为呈色剂，用普通製釉原料，加入釉灰、氧化锡，生坯挂釉，高温还原烧成。某些雾红釉料配製，往往将黄金、珊瑚、玛瑙、玉石等物碾成粉未掺入，不惜工本，因而十分名贵，有清一代，在永宣时期霁红釉的基础上，进行了继承和发展，烧製出颇为鲜艳浓丽的霁红釉瓷器。本品便为道光时期霁红釉佳品。
