Description Italian School, possibly Siena, oil or tempera and gesso on panel religious painting, possibly the center of a church altarpiece, depicting the Madonna with Christ Child on her lap. Mary is attired in blue robes and seated on a red and gold cloth covering; both she and the child are crowned with incised halos. The panel is additionally tooled with circles and darts, and framed with a narrow molding around the upper surface of the panel.
