此盏敞口，口沿微束，镶银口，部分脱落。盏浅弧腹，盏身曲线优美，腹下部垂釉如泪痕，底内削成圈足，修足规整，足部露出胎骨。蔡襄（1012-1067年）在《茶录》中记载：“茶色白，宜黑盏，建安（即今建阳）所造者绀黑，纹如兔毫，其坯微厚，熁之久热难冷，最为要用。出他处者，或薄或色紫，皆不及也”，即为此盏。
