Green Childs Alphabet ABC Plate ABC Letters ~ CLOCK ~ NUMBERS Barker & Kent Staffordshire England c 1860 This early childs plate measures 6-1/2 inches transfer printed in rich forest green. The plate shows the entire alphabet in upper case and lower case, along with the numbers 1 - 24 and a clock face showing Dinner Time and Time To Bed. The plate was made in the Staffordshire region of England by the Barker & Kent partner. It is in great condition, with no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. Haphazardly made, intended for childs play and probably considered disposable. Minor typical firing flaws. A great example of plates made as gifts for good children of the nineteenth century.
