品相: 口缺一螺钿参阅：1.香港嘉德，2021年春季拍卖会，Lot 1156，成交价：69万港币；2.《故宫竹木牙角图典》，紫禁城出版社，故宫博物院编，页106。笔筒是文房案头重要的文具，供放置毛笔用，虽未列入纸墨笔砚文房四宝之列，但仍普遍受文人偏爱，故笔筒均制作较精美。此笔筒取紫檀精料制作，笔筒口沿错银丝为缠枝蔓，以螺钿镶嵌缠枝莲纹，外壁镂雕《会昌九老图》。底座如岩石状，与筒身景物相呼应。此器以高浮雕和圆雕为主，刀法快利，雕刻层次清晰，虽然纹饰满布全器，但布局妥贴自然。人物景致刻画生动，雕工精美，实为文房陈设之佳器。
