The round carving technique is used to carve a strong reclining cow, looking straight ahead, in a kneeling position. The depiction of the four hooves at the bottom is also meticulous, the spine on the back is raised, and the muscles of the body are full. 中國長期處於農耕時代，農耕中牛扮演著最為主要的角色，因此古人對於牛有著特殊的感情。而牛溫順、勤勞的品性，也一直被古人加以褒揚，甚至以牛作為主題編撰一些神話故事。本器玉質溫潤細膩，瑩潤光潔，寶光十足。採用圓雕技法，雕琢健壯的臥牛，直視前方，呈跪臥狀。此件拍品從任意角度陳放觀賞，各有韻味，不盡相同。其面相的刻劃沉靜，不露聲色，有靜穆之感。底部四蹄的刻劃也是細緻入微，並無偷工之處。背部脊柱隆起，清晰可見，身體的肌肉飽滿，十分到位。
