A famous painter in the Qin Dynasty, this picture of chicken and stone is the work of Li Qizhong in his later years. The stone painted is lifelike, and bamboo leaves are displayed beside the stone. Under the stone, a rooster is staring at the right with its head raised. The rooster's feathers and chicken feet are painted very naturally. This painting should be one of the fine works of Li Qi. 李鱓：清代著名畫家，「揚州八怪」之一。康熙五十年中舉， 康熙五十三年召為內廷供奉，其宮廷工筆畫造詣頗深，因不願受「正統派」畫風束縛而遭忌離職。此幅雞石圖為李鱓中晚年作品，所畫石頭逼真，石頭旁有竹葉展現出來，石頭下一只雄雞昂頭凝視右方，雄雞羽毛以及雞爪畫的非常自然，此畫應為李鱓作品中的精品之一。
