盘山位于天津市蓟州区西北。智朴，江苏徐州人，生于明崇祯十年，三十五岁到盘山结茅青沟，创青沟禅院，后康熙赐名盘谷寺。他曾与康熙诗词唱和，现盘谷寺遗址留有《赐智朴和尚》碑。智朴逝世后，葬盘谷寺南天门下，乾隆追赐进士，故后人称之为进士坟，为盘山名胜之一。盘山旧无志，此志实为首创。其条理清晰，文字简洁，在山志中为佳者。康熙三十年，本志完稿，智朴请著名学者朱彝尊、王士祯为之考订，王士祯并写了序言。全志设名胜、物产、游幸、文部、诗部等门。卷首有同治十一年镌盘山图一幅，摹刻甚精。拍品第一、三册略有虫蛀。
