泰山为五岳之首，历来为人所重视。明嘉靖年间，汪子卿首为泰山做专志，后亦有多种续作问世。至清乾隆年间，金棨搜集有关泰山的各种典籍，分门别类，汇为此编。是志二十卷，分天章纪、盛典纪、图考、岱志、支山志、川泉志、祠庙志、秩祀志、封禅志、郡邑志、人物志、金石记、逸事记、叙录十四门，记述泰山景致事迹极尽翔实，卷四图考收有精美版画二十九图。此志对考订泰山人文景观及历史具有重要参考价值。拍品旧装未衬，原签尚存。
