罗江县，今为四川省德阳市罗江区。李调元，字羹汤，号雨村，乾隆进士，历任庶吉士、吏部主事、广东乡试副考官、考功司员外郎、直隶通永道。家有万卷楼，为西川藏书第一家。全志分十七门，编例自订，未按常规县志编排，不编艺文一门，卷一为沿革、疆域、城池、公署、职官、宦绩，卷九、十为人物、土产等。卷二至八分作城内、东、南、西、北四乡来分述其山川道里、祠庙寺观、古迹名胜、风土人物等，各附入有关诗文。卷十附铜爵图二幅。
