赵贞信、贞信三十以后所得书 沔阳州辖境相当今湖北仙桃、洪湖、天门三市，清属汉阳府。1912年改为沔阳县。此州志是沔阳州最早志书。成书于嘉靖十年。全志分一纪、四表、八志、十一传。是志当时即与康海《武功县志》、王九思《鄞县志》并称海内三名志。章学诚亦极称许是志。是志传本极少见，民国间沔阳卢弼得明崇祯之志，从书中所采童志，依类别录成帙，校刻即行，改题《沔阳州志》。首册天头有十数页稍破。赵贞信旧藏。赵贞信（1902-1989），字肖甫，杭州富阳人。在顾颉刚与陈垣的影响下，从事考据之学。后历任北京辅仁大学中文系、北京师范大学历史系教授。
