昆明县，现为云南省昆明市，地处中国—东盟自由贸易区、澜湄合作区域、泛珠三角经济圈交汇点。戴絅孙，字袭孟，云南昆明人，清道光九年进士，官工部主事、监察御史，回乡后任五华书院山长。为“五华五子”之一，诗文著称于世，著有《味雪斋诗文钞》。是志系作者以私人之力，收集相关地志资料，五易寒暑纂辑成稿。后历经六十年于光绪二十七年始得刊行于世。全志设疆域志、风土志、建置志、学校志、黎献志、闺媛志等十八门。时人评价本志“是书去取合宜，繁简得中，有朝邑、武功之长而无其失，在近代中洵为善本”。惜略有虫蛀。
