A Chinese 'Longquan' deep sided bowl , Ming Dynasty, 14 th or 15 th century, the interior with central character and incised with a band of Buddhistic emblems below key fret band, the interior of foot unglazed showing orange, exhibition labels for Cape Town 1953, Radcliffe collection and BADA, 18cm diameter x 10.5cm high Provenance: Major Edward Copleston Radcliffe (1898-1967) collection and listed in the family archive, 'A14', as purchased from Sotheby's in 1942 for £8-0s-0d, but listed in the Bluett archive (Ex. stock 1598) as bought Sotheby's, July 1st, 1943, lot 47 (part lot) form the collection of the late Sir Daniel Hall.
