琴书侣即明代宣德年间的吴邦佐，他是当年监造鼎鼎大名的“大明宣德铸炉”的工部吏臣，是宣德时铸铜工艺名匠，此人铸炉技艺高超，从器型设计，纹饰设计，颜色调整，到物料配比，都无一不精，堪称当时顶尖高手，所铸之炉后世多有仿制加之寄托款，此炉就是其中执牛耳者，观其皮壳厚泽细腻，淡雅古朴，炉身小巧别致。器薄体重，敞口圆唇，桥耳跷起如拱，极富张力。束颈，扁圆鼓腹，底承三乳足各据其位，稳健有力。整器自上至下线条低徊婉转，形体丰满绰约。内膛平整，烧结老道。炉底“琴书侣”篆书款，结构端庄，笔力遒劲。其铜质细腻精炼，入手沉坠，叩之声传悠远，绵长跌宕。陈设于室可赏其形，品香论道可取其神，堪称神形兼备，色艺双馨。
