During his tenure at the National Central University, Wang had frequent exchanges with artists including Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Huang Junbi and Fu Baoshi. In 1948, Wang moved to Taiwan to work at the National Taiwan University. While in Taiwan Wang became close friends with Pu Ru.
