The inscriptions on these panels often conveyed religious verses from the Quran or messages of praise to the reigning sultan. These panels were often used as decorative elements in the grand architectural structures of the time, such as palaces, mosques, and mausoleums. They served as a reflection of the Mamluk era's sophisticated artistic sensibilities and cultural values.
