Ca. 1069-664 BC. Modelled in deep blue faience, the protector god Bes is portrayed as a nude dwarf on an integrated base. He wears a large feather crown highlighted above his head, surmounting grotesque facial features, with protruding tongue and ears and the mane of a lion. Shown standing on slightly bent legs with his hands on either side of his protruding belly, his tail between his legs, and suspension loop behind him for attachment to a necklace.
