The display of elaborate jewelry is of critical importance, especially in funeral ceremonies, to emphasize the status and wealth of the upper classes. A example can be found in the Dallas Museum of Art (1988.55) and a pair published in Carpenter,Ethnic Jewellery of Indonesia, 2011, p. 186 and 186, both which share similar chased designs in the gold panel sides.
