A LARGE PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN VASES WITH BUDDHIST LIONS, QINGChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Each of hexagonal baluster form, painted in underglaze cobalt blue with Buddhist lions and cubs with brocade balls and ribbons, surrounded by scrolling clouds and flames, the foot with an ornamental floral band, and a key fret border below the mouth rim. The interior covered in a pale celadon glaze. The recessed bases with an underglaze blue apocryphal six-character Daqing Qinlong Nianzhi mark. Condition: Overall in good condition with wear, firing flaws, extensive fritting, and surface scratches. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
