A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN VASE AND COVER, QINGChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Of ovoid form, rising from a recessed foot to a short unglazed rim, the exterior is finely decorated in bright polychrome enamels with figurative scenes of court ladies, attendants, or immortals, all within lobed medallions interspersed with lotus scroll and framed by decorative borders below the rim and above the foot. The cover is similarly decorated and has a metal finial of later date. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing flaws, shallow surface scratches and a drilled hole to the underside from the former usage as a lamp. Provenance: French private collection.
