Carved with a serene expression, marked by heavy-lidded, almond-shaped eyes below elegantly arched eyebrows, and full lips forming a subtle smile, the head surmounted by a tall and elaborately carved miter crown. Condition: Condition commensurate with age, extensive wear, natural weathering, losses. Provenance: From a private Danish collection, according to the current owner acquired from a man whose grandfather served as an ambassador in Beijing and Shanghai prior to Mao's rule.
