A CAUCASIAN BRONZE MOUFLON BELT HOOKNorth Caucasus, Ossetia, 9th to 5th century BC. Cast as a stylized mouflon with long horns curling at the ends, in a recumbent position with the legs tucked under the body, which is decorated with a cross and lines. Condition: Good condition with wear, signs of weathering and corrosion, some dents. Naturally grown patina overall with malachite green. Provenance: Galerie Serres, Paris, acquired in June 1999, a copy of the original certificate from the Serres gallery and a letter from Jean-Louis Zimmermann accompany this lot. Former Robert Blanchet (1921-2009) collection, inventory n°429. A copy of the original collection card and handwritten description accompanies this lot. French Export License: Certificated d’exportation pour un bien culturel Nr. 194242 dated 2 May 2018 has been granted and a copy is accompanying this lot.
