A BLACK AND CINNABAR TIXI LACQUER CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER, MING DYNASTY
China, 1368-1644. The domed circular cover decorated with floral and ruyi design carved through a thick layer of black lacquer alternating with several thin red layers. The base and interior lacquered in black with a narrow wave design just above the base.

Condition:
Very good condition with minor aged wear with a few cracks, nicks and scratches, possibly few minor old repairs.
