此壶精铜所铸，整作六方造型，形制高大挺拔，气韵高贵典雅。侈口，颈部稍束，腹部饱满微垂，底承外撇圈足。颈、腹线条流畅，六棱转折明朗。颈部两侧各铸兽吞把式双龙耳，独角倚立，双目圆瞪，长吻咧张，口吐耳把。器身纹饰公分五段，上颈部饰蝉纹，并以器身棱角为中心轴，增加了纹饰立体感；依次往下为两端姿态各异的兽面纹，下腹部及足墙同饰海水纹。
通体皮壳呈熟栗色，极为厚润，微泛红晕，柔滑恬静，细腻可掐，为好古者最喜之色。
