主体木质为赞比亚产血檀，属紫檀木，四个柜门为大漆木板采用玉石镶嵌工艺，镶嵌了白玉、碧玉、玛瑙、青金石等多种玉石、雕刻为花鸟纹饰，做工精美。该工艺最早出现于明代，明清时期为皇家宫廷技艺，在螺钿镶嵌工艺的基础上，加入宝石、玉石等多种经过加工的珍贵材料，从而达到突出构图主题和强化装饰效果的目的。
