Styled Yuanbai, also known as Yuanbo, he was a member of the Jiusan Society. A prominent Chinese contemporary calligrapher, classical literature scholar, antiquities appraiser, educator, poet, and Sinologist, Qi Gong was a professor at Beijing Normal University and the former honorary chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. His publications include treatises like "Drafts on Ancient Chinese Characters," "An Overview of Calligraphy," "Selected Calligraphy of Qi Gong," "Qi Gong's Cursive Script Thousand Character Classic," and collections like "Qi Gong's Collection on Calligraphy," "A Hundred Quatrains on Calligraphy by Qi Gong," "Qi Gong's Three Posts Collection," and "Draft on the Prosody of Poetry and Literature."
