Morganite figure circa 7.1 x 6.2 x 5.5 cm, onyx base circa 11.2 x 10 x 1.6 cm. Figure: circa 131.6 g, base: circa 227.2 g. Technical design: the figure, which is probably intended to represent the mermaid Lorelei, has been carved by hand from of a delicate pink-blue-green morganite. The body is matt and the lower part is polished. The base of onyx stone is polished and the underside is matt. The figure and base were carved separately and have been put together. The engraving is finely executed, corresponding with the working method of the Idar-Obersteiner engraving tradition and was carried out by Andrea Sohne.
