18K yellow gold and platinum 950/-. Paris hallmarks, Ref. No. A. 325. 81 tiny brilliant-cut diamonds and octagonal-cut diamonds, altogether circa 1.25 carats. 1 emerald-cut emerald, circa 2.40 carats (calculated weight), transparent lively jardin, fine quality of colour. Circa 5.5 x 3.5 cm. Circa 27.4 g. Technical execution: hinged, secured double needle fastening to the rear. Pierre Sterlé, born 1905 in France, qualified a goldsmith in 1934 and moved to the Rue de l'Opera in 1945, where he worked for jewellers who also adopted a selection of his designs. His artistry and skill in making gold appear like knitted, woven fabric or pliable cords made him famous. In 1957 he invented the so-called \angel hair\". Sterlé was one of the most talented ambassadors of French jewellery abroad and is one of the few jewellers to be honored by De Beers Corporation. Sterlé's designs are in great demand and very collectable. "
