A bronze ring comprising a D-section hoop and broad keeled shoulders, ribbed upper faces and incised scroll detailing, inset carnelian cabochon with intaglio standing eagle with wings spread and serpent in the beak. Cf. Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 211. 22 grams, 33mm overall, 18.06mm internal diameter (approximate size British P, USA 7 3/4, Europe 16.55, Japan 16) (1 1/4").
