A silver ring comprising a broad D-section hoop, ellipsoid cell to the bezel with inset deeply patinated chalcedony cloison, intaglio standing figure with arm extended above a smaller figure reaching upwards. Cf. Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, 199 for type. 3.91 grams, 20mm overall, 17.66mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7 1/4, Europe 15.48, Japan 15) (3/4"). Property of a Wirral, UK, collector; acquired from Bron Lipkin of Collector Antiquities, London; accompanied by a copy of the original invoice. Fine condition.
