A silver-gilt finger ring comprising a borad flat-section hoop, ellipsoid bezel with high-relief profile female bust with hair dressed in a chignon; Hellenistic style; possibly the bust of an empress. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 64 for type. 13.49 grams, 24.63mm overall, 19.85mm internal diameter (approximate size British S, USA 9, Europe 20.00, Japan 19) (1"). Property of a North West London gallery; formerly in a 1980s collection. Very fine condition. A large wearable size.
