1st-2nd century AD. A bronze dragonesque brooch with La Tène detailing to the body, profile beast-head to each end. Cf. Hattatt, R. Ancient and Romano-British Brooches, Sherborne, 1982, item 155 for type. 6.8 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). From a private UK collector; previously the property of an East Anglian collector; acquired in Europe in the late 1940s. Fine condition.
