A bronze provincial appliqué in the form of Mercury (Greek Hermes), standing nude with left leg crossed over the right; to the right hand a money bag, to the left a caduceus; face with wide eyes and hair drawn to the top of the head in a bun. 90 grams, 107mm (4 1/4"). Property of a London collector; acquired on the London market, 1990s-2000s. Very fine condition.
