A large openwork gilt-bronze mount of an eagle within a wreath; hatched detail to the wings, feather detail to the neck and body, leaf texture to the wreath with the head placed over it, group of rectangular cells on the wreath below the chest, possible remains of an inscription below the bird's feet; securing lug to the reverse. 42 grams, 60mm (2 1/2"). From an old North Country collection; formed between 1970-2000. Fair condition.
