13th-14th century AD. A bronze heater-shaped stud with round-section lug to the reverse, enamelled field with reserved lion rampant. See Ashley, S. Medieval Armorial Horse Furniture in Norfolk, East Anglian Archaeology 101, Dereham, 2002, item 132. 2.06 grams, 17mm (3/4"). From an old North Country collection; found near Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK, 2004. Fine condition.
