Late Cretaceous Period, Cenomanian Stage, 100-94 million years BP. A Rugops primus dinosaur tooth with sharp, serrated edges from the Kem-Kem Basin, Morocco. 5.45 grams, 42mm (1 3/4"). From a Lincoln paleontological collection. This is a genus of theropod dinosaur only discovered in 2000 by Paul Sereno, a professor of palaeontology at the University of Chicago, which inhabited modern Africa approximately 95 million years ago (Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous"). Fine condition. Very rare.
