Auf dem Keilrahmen altes Etikett mit der Inventarnummer des Wallraf-Richartz-Museums Köln von 1925 mit der Nummer 1457.

Provenienz:
- bis 1861 Sammlung Minderop, Köln;
- 1861-1943/44 als Schenkung im Walraff-Richartz-Museum, Köln, anschließend aus dem Museumsbestand verkauft;
- Privatsammlung Rheinland.

Fred G. Meijer beschreibt das vorliegende Gemälde in einer Email vom 25. Februar 2019 als eine außergewöhnlich große Arbeit, die er dem Simon de Vos zuschreibt. Nach den Fotos datiert er es in die 1660er Jahre und vermutet ob der Größe auch die Mitarbeit verschiedener Hände der Werkstatt.

On the stretcher old label with the inventory no. of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum Cologne from 1925 with the no. 1457.

Provenance:
- until 1861 collection Minderop, Cologne;
- 1861-1943/44 as a donation in the Walraff-Richartz-Museum, Cologne, subsequently sold from the museum's collection;
- Private collection Rhineland.

Fred G. Meijer describes the present painting in an e-mail from the 25th February 2019 as an exceptional work, which he attributes to Simon de Vos. According to the photographs, he dates it to the 1660s and because of the size he also presumes a cooperation of different hands of the workshop.
