明末以来，各具风格的瑞兽体裁常被作为瓷器绘画的主题纹饰。此瓶口微侈，束颈，圆溜肩，长筒直腹。通景绘麒麟出水，釉里红勾勒海水纹，青花描绘江石，笔触老到，线条劲挺，勾描，平涂，渲染娴熟洒脱。画面麒麟青花勾线，釉里红填色，麒麟生动逼真，形神兼备，釉里红发色浓郁，实属难得。筒瓶也称想退平、一统瓶。因为明末战乱不断，百姓深受其害，因此盼望国家早日和平统一。其造型影响深远，后朝一直沿用。
