An Etched glass panel in three parts 'In Memoriam', mid-late 20th century, apparently unsignedAsymmetric form, three glass panels mounted together and each one engraved on both sides, the central panel depicting a seated 'anguished' man, with barbed poppies, doves and ghostly figures, the smaller panel at the top engraved with a tank, tank canons firing and a splintered barren tree, the smaller panel at the bottom engraved with a lighted candle and a row of books, the panel slides into a stepped green stained wood plinth74.5 cm high x 53 cm wide approximatelyNotes: Possibly a memorial/commemoration for WWI. Tanks were first used in World War I at the Battle of Flers-Courcelette in September 1916 (part of The Battle of The Somme).
Some oxidisation to the screws that join the panels. Glass in good condition. The bottom layer of the wood base has a split. Some general wear to base.
