6th-7th century AD. A hollow-formed silver-gilt disc-on-bow brooch comprising a rectangular headplate with inset garnet cloison discs and surrounding cells each with a wafer-stamped foil behind; short bow with similar large disc bearing a garnet cloison centre and segmented border; Z- and S-scrolled lappets flanking the junction with the triangular footplate formed as a facing bull's head in garnet cloisonné; pierced lugs and catch to the reverse.
