A pair of Chinese famille rose porcelain cups dating from the Republic period. Each has a 6-character mark on the bottom. The cups have yellow ground exteriors with a Shou medallion and 5 bats, peaches, a Buddhist cross, and a ruyi border at the top. Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 3 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Crack to the full length of body in 1. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok’s daughter and grandson.  Items from the same collector were sold at our September Fine Asian Art & Antiques auctions, 2019.
