(4) Chinese Republic period (1912-1949) pewter box and 3 mugs by the Chinese company Kut Hing Swatow, each is engraved with a double dragon motif: a) rectangular box has overlapping lid and a bisected tray, marked on base of box and on inside of lid with 3 separate Chinese character seals as well as "Kut Hing Pewter Swatow;" b) 3 conical pewter mugs with glass bases, marked on bottom rim with 3 Chinese seals and "Kut Hing Swatow." Dimensions are: a) 9 in (22.8 cm) long X 5 3/4 in (14.6 cm) wide X 4 1/2 in (11.4 cm) tall; b) 5 3/8 in (13.6 cm) tall X 3 7/8 in (9.8 cm) diameter at base, 5 in (12.7 cm) wide with handle. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Surface wear commensurate with age and use; a) light damage to corners, lip of lid and base, bending of edges of tray insert; b) edge wear to corners of handles, bottom rim of one mug has warping caused by impact damage, and an S-shaped crack in glass.
